Beach of Santa Maria Navarrese
The beach is locatedright adjacent to the town of Santa Maria and is easily reachable by foot.
The sand is clear and thick – a lovely mixture of amber-coloured pebbles and gravel. Rocks with pinkish hues frame both the beach and the azure sea. In Santa Maria the sea is shallow and clean, and is therefore perfect for children to play in. The beach is well equipped and you can enjoy numerous facilities including bars, kiosks and car-parks.
Beach of Pedra Longa
This cove takes its name from theenormous calcium monument that dominates it (Pedra Longa = Tall Rock) a good 130 metres above sea level. This is a beach with crystalline waters and a rocky seabed. Pedra Longa has ample parking and a bar, and represents the best choice if you love water-sports such as diving, fishing or snorkelling.
Beach of Portu Cuau
A small and characteristic beach on the Orosei Gulf, literally nestled in a cove surrounded by steep cliffs. The beach is formed by pebbles and small stones, and the seabed – which becomes deep even with the first few metres – is typically made up of rocks. This beach can only be reached via sea or via a fairly challenging walk. All these characteristics mean that Portu Cuau is never very busy despite the marvels of its clear waters and landscape.
Beyond these beaches, the Orosei Gulf touches many other beaches and bays that are truly incredible, among the most beautiful in all the Mediterranean, but only reachable by boat or by foot. These are Cala Sisine, Cala Luna, Cala Mariolu, Cala Biriola e Cala Goloritzè, to name just a few of the most famous and accessible.
